Networking Tasmania II (NTII) Overview
NT II is an outsourced, integrated, data communications network for the Tasmanian Government.
NT II provides a range of proactively managed end-to-end wide area network services, including managed network services, connection services, Internet gateway and filtering services and Government directory services.
BBW Telcom (BBW) is an authorised NTII provider for the supply of connection and Internet-only services.
BBW's NT II services are designed and delivered to meet each of the following NTII customer needs:
- Connections between customer groups and also to the core services network. Access control will normally be implemented using a firewall(s).
- Individual Internet Services that provide stand-alone Broadband Internet access for individual sites (small offices and remote/home users) not permanently connected to the NT II network.
Who can use NT II Services?
State Government Customers
State Government inner budget Agencies and all other State Government entities including GBEs and the following type of entities:
- a Department;
- an Agency; or
where approved in writing by the Contract Authority, an Eligible non-Government Body,
carrying out business in, or related to, Tasmania, which requires an NTII Service.
"Eligible non-Government Body" means a body (including a private school) which is:
- directly or indirectly, partially or entirely, funded by the Commonwealth, or the State; and/or
- non-profit making.

Who Manages My Services?
In all cases NTII services are managed by the dedicated BBW Customer Care Centre which provides a single point of contact for day to day issues such as adds, moves, changes, faults and billing enquiries, or simply advice.
